Let The Crisco-fest Begin! (again)

We’re off to Jules’/Julie’s home this evening for our post-Hanukkah Hanukkah Celebration, since she couldn’t make it to our house last Saturday night. It’ll be really fun, and–just like last Saturday–super greasy. At least I made enough blintzes last week so I don’t have to do that again.

And we’ll get to sit on her new couch, which is all the more exciting!

Other events planned: gift exchange and Trivial Pursuit playing. Yay!

I have so much to write about: mainly the mini-nervous breakdown I had yesterday afternoon (It’s been a long week!). But…you will have to be patient and return to me tomorrow or Monday! (How’s that for a teaser?) It’s going to be a busy weekend!

Until then, talk amongst yourselves. I’ll give you a topic:
Gift cards are all the rage in the past couple of years. What are your thoughts on gift cards vs. actual gifts? Do you think that gift cards diminish the gift-giving and receiving experience, or do you think they enhance it? Throw some comments my way if you’re so inclined!

I’ll be checking in here and there over the weekend…have a good one!

Well that sounds like fun. Have a great weekend. Can’t wait to hear how it was.
Regarding the gift cards. Occasionally I like giving and receiving gift cards. Especially if I don’t have anything specific that I was wishing for. I don’t think they diminish the whole giving-receiving experience and I still love the surprise of a real gift. Though I don’t see anything wrong with gift cards either.

Hope you have a wonderful time 🙂
As for gift cards….just ugh. I love presents. Love them. The paper, squeezing them and guessing, ripping all that ribbon and crinkly wrapping off…it’s all the excitement, never mind what the gift is! I think gift cards were invented for people who need a quick fix, or they don’t know the person well enough to consider a ‘real’ gift. Having said that…I do look forward to receiving them, because only you can truly know exactly what underwear/cds/etc you want, unless you leave large clues around the house. Which I do. Still…I do love me a real present 🙂

I can totally see you sitting pretty in that frilly dress! I love getting gift cards, but not giving them. 🙂

I agree…with all of you! hee hee

I LOVE to get gift cards, and only like to give them if I’m at a loss for an idea for a real gift. I take pride in (usually) being a very creative gift-giver. I put lots of thought into what I buy or make. But there are just some people or some occasions when a gift card seems like a better way to go.

Also, on a side note, because I make lots of things for people, I TOTALLY appreciate handmade gifts when I get them, too!
