I just wanted to give a shout-out and ask you all to keep your fingers crossed…
Shirley’s daughter, Tina T. takes my group cycling classes when she can. The first time I saw her, I thought, “WOW, she is ‘cut’!” This girl is super-fit and clearly an athlete. As I got to know her, I found out that she plays basketball and also coaches for a local high school girl’s team. She is very focused, very “together”, and I really, really enjoy when she makes it to my class.
A little more than a week ago, we found out at the healthclub that Tina got an invitation to try out for not one but two WNBA teams! The healthclub was kind enough to let a bunch of her friends have a bakesale on Saturday to try to raise money to cover her travel. It was a smashing success and raised more than $2000!
She is headed out at the end of this week to try to make her dreams come true. She has the entire membership of a healthclub, a church, countless friends, and a large and loving family behind her, supporting her and sending good vibes her way.
Tina, this is YOUR TIME. I played this in class for you yesterday but you were so busy sweating that you probably didn’t listen to the lyrics…so here they are (some of them, anyway).
music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I’m through with playing by
The rules of someone else’s game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It’s time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
It’s time to try defying gravity
I think I’ll try defying gravity
And you can’t pull me down
You Go, Tina…We’re all pulling for you!
