The Wind Whipped Through My Hair…and I Didn’t Care

FINALLY, spring is really here after a couple of false starts. I was driving around this morning and noticed that the temperature outside was a fabulous 66 degrees! That meant only one thing at that moment:

Time to open up the sunroof for the very first time this year! Yippee!

Naturally I needed a soundtrack, and luckily I had some of my favorite “warm weather driving” songs readily available. I started with this one:

I then went to this one:

And then this one:

I took my time running my errands…what a glorious drive around town! One of my all-time favorite summery songs came on shortly before I got home, so I had to drive around the block a couple of times to enjoy it. If you don’t have this one, I highly recommend it. It never gets old for me…and I never listen to it in the dead of winter!

Hope the weather is sunny where you are! What are your favorite songs to listen to with the windows down and the sunroof open? (or the top down, if you are a lucky dog with a convertible!)

    Yay for spring.

What do I listen to with my windows down and the sunroof open?

Anything I can sing along to which means the windows better be up….

We don’t want to frighten anyone ;o)

    GREAT SONGS!!!

I should get the first two on my iPod. I admit I did listed to Summertime a few times back when getting 12″ of snow wasn’t cause to bat an eye. Miami is also good – not AS good, but good.

God I miss music videos…its like a direct connection with my childhood!

And are you totally getting blown away today?!?

Had my sun roof open today too! I usually sing to Melissa Ethridge and Matchbox 20 at full volume. Any song from the 70’s is fair game too. Oh and “Jack and Diane” always reminds me of summer.

Glad that Roxie’s anus (funny word) is feeling better. I love your rug with the flowers on it!

Oh. My. God. You are THE coolest chick I know now in blogville. Major props to your taste in music girl! I adore each and every one of those songs.

Kat: I’m sure it’s not as bad as it sounds.
    (Is it?)

Colleen: YES! The wind is furious down here! Garbage cans were a-flying!

Sue: I totally agree with you there on “Jack and Diane”: love it! And, errr, yes…Roxie is doing much better. She’s back to her troublemaking self!
(BTW: The rug is Pottery Barn, from the year 2000. I decorated the whole living room around it!)

Huckdoll: You make me blush! I guess we would be musically compatible if we took a road trip together!

I usually blast an Eminem CD…if not for the enjoyment of the weather and a drive then to see the angry faces of people who already think somethings wrong with me. 😉

Other than Madonna (her and I aren’t tight.) your play list works for me too. So much so I turned up Hollaback Girl full blast before I typed this comment. And my poor cat almost had a heart attack.

I don’t usually pick the programmiing in the mom-mobile. It’s easier to let the Tweedles pick–less whining etc. However, when I do get to crank it up, I really like anything by Jimmy Buffet. We’ve had the sunroof open already this year too! Yeah!

Taj! OMG, I’m so happy you’re back on! Yippee!
(and I love Eminem too. I actually blast Alanis Morrisette’s “You Oughta Know” out my window in the summertime too…love it!)

Stacey: Ha! I can see how Jimmy Buffet would be great summer music, and I enjoy him. But I need a pulsating drum beat… LOL
