Tiaras Gone Wild: Spring Break 2008

We are off for a little Spring Break mini-getaway! I’ll miss Bloggerville lots, but I will only be gone from today around 11 a.m. until Tuesday night, so I’m sure I will survive…I hope!

But where are we going?
Are we going here?

tahiti 22

Nope. (I WISH!)
Are we going here?

paris05day7017small

Nuh-uh. How about here?

niagara+falls

Negative.

I thought I’d give you all something to do while I’m gone. So, if you’re game, try to figure out where I’ll be! (If you already know our destination, then it wouldn’t really be fair to “play”, so just leave a comment encouraging others! Go team!)

Clues:

1. There are three words in the name of our destination. Once you figure them out (below), they will need to be reordered to get the answer.

2. One of the words is what a teacher uses to make sure her students answered their test questions correctly, and also part of the title of a famous (and awesome) 1980’s song by Bertie Higgins.

3. One of the words is part of the name of the coastal setting of (American) tv’s longest running mystery series.

4. You can get the third word by taking the “Y” off the end of the old American slang term for British people.

5. We will be sometimes wet, sometimes dry, a little lazy, and at times screaming “Wahoo!” like a Banshee.

6. This place has been in existence for less than 6 months.

7. We will be within one mile of the fourth largest mall in Illinois, according to Wikipedia.

8. Believe it or not, we are staying in the Chicagoland area.

Leave a comment with your guess, if you want to. I will assume that, if I get back and there are no guesses, that this was a stupid idea for a post. Someone, please, humor me, would you?

That sounds great. Have a fun time and enjoy your little time away. You will be missed.

Will check later if I can solve your little riddle. Sounds like a theme park Six Flags or something like that.

    Have a wonderful time.

I do not think this is a stupid idea for a post, in fact it’s very clever.

So clever in fact, that I can’t figure it out off the top of my head. I’ll have to dig a bit and come back.

I hope you’re having a great time though!! We’ll miss ya.

Oh, and when I saw that first picture, I was severly jealous for a few seconds!!!!

I know, so I won’t guess, but I hope you had a fabulous time. It is my personal idea of hell on earth, if that gives anyone else more to guess with. I can’t wait to hear about it when you get back.

Tsk tsk, young lady. You know I’m a sucker for all things American, and when you left those clues, I – as an Australian and probably slightly slow – have no idea what any of them are. Bertie whom?

So, it was off to google for the fourth largest mall, and ever since, I’ve been on google maps. I don’t think I’ll ever leave. I love the name Bittersweet Golf Course!

And I still don’t know where you’re going. Six Flags sounds like a mother idea of hell, and I don’t know where the whole teachers aide thing comes into it (aside from it not being three words), so I’m going to keep looking 🙂

Have a great time, where-ever you may be Oh Sneaky One!

    Ooooh…I think I found it 🙂

Does it involve fruit, and something to do with doors?

If not, whatever you do, don’t go near all the beautifully named golf courses and forest places in Chicago – all the ‘street view’ photos of them on google maps looks like a hurricanes getting ready to roll through 🙂

Oooo ooo, I know where you’re going, and I hope you’re going to give a review. We live nearby and want to go, but with a 2 and 4 year old, I haven’t decided if it’s worth the expense or if it’d be too overwhelming and potentially dangerous for them. Have a ton of fun. I can’t wait to hear all about it! (And how were you not on spring break last week like everyone else? Lucky you; you get decent weather!)

  • Sue

Thanks for sending me sleuthing thru the internet! I have to agree with kathylikespink and say Keylime Cove Water Resort! Looks like a blast and with a name like that, they must have fun drinks with umbrellas poolside. Can’t wait to hear about it!

  • Manic Mom

Oh I see someone beat me to it:

Key Lime Cove Water Resort at Gurnee Mills.

You gave way too many clues.

I went to iTunes and punched in Bertie Higgins. I went to Google and typed in Fourth largest mall in Illinois.

You must be wearing that tiara cuz you ain’t got that thinkin’ cap on!

    But fun little quiz nonetheless!

Hope you had a fun trip. We are stuck here in beautiful Woodridge, still with a sick child! Going on a week of this shit!

Where’s my QUEEN FOR A DAY tiara when I need it most!!!

  • SpAzzGiRL

it’s not key lime, is it?
I hope the new Gurnee one is better than the other…we weren’t screaming Wahoo that’s for sure, more like Ewwwww!
Have fun up north and wave hi to my parents while you’re up there, maybe your wave will suffice as a visit?! lol
Can’t wait to hear your honest review.

  • Dea

LOL! Too cute – Hope you guys had fun!!! See you Wed night – don’t forget to get the hubby to Spin class that night! 😀

  • Melisa

Yay! I am so happy to have gotten some guesses while I was gone…at Key Lime Cove (Water Resort)!

Katie: Are you still on the Google maps? Take a rest, for goodness sakes! 🙂

Manic: Whoa! I can tell you’re on the cranky side because you’ve been home with a sick kid…I hope he’s feeling better! No need to belittle my little quiz: I thought my clues were good! (and that’s all that matters, right?) I hope you found your Tiara.

Janice: Your guess was my favorite. Something Something Lime. Hilarious!

Simone: I waved, but don’t know if your parents saw me. I think you’ll still need to visit.

Deanna: Forget him? Of course not, silly! We’ll see you tomorrow!

I am going to attempt a short post later; full review will go up by tomorrow evening, hopefully! Missed you guys!
