Who Wants a Clean House?

I do. But I don’t just want a Clean House (and believe me, if you are familiar with that show–one of my faves–you can rest assured that my house does not have nearly enough clutter to qualify, thank goodness), but I want a Cleaner-looking Blog. The look of my blog has been bothering me for a while and, though I’m not yet ready to put on my construction hat tiara and renovate completely, I have made a couple of fun (for me) changes.

Rather than keep my basic blogroll and lovely awards that have been bestowed upon this page, I have packed them up and moved them to another page. You can easily get to it without the use of a GPS by clicking the picture of the adorable pink, fuzzy tiara down there to the right. What I like about this is that I have adjusted the settings on the blogroll so that I can use it like a Reader, because I’m too lazy to use a Reader. I anticipate it will save me alot of time, which is good, because time after time, time is money, time flies when you’re having fun, and if I could save time in a bottle, well you get the idea.

Wait, there’s one more time reference that I couldn’t resist. Click it.

I have also added, just below that button/portal to my other page, the new Blogger “follower” feature. If you have a blogger account and would like to be recognized as a follower of Suburban Scrawl (I hate that term “follower” in terms of my blog: it’s so cultish!), click it. What the heck. We can form our own little Suburban Scrawl cult community and maybe get together for the holidays.

I’m probably not yet done rearranging and I have big renovation plans for sometime in the future, but I’m definitely happy with a less busy-looking page for now.

By the way, if you don’t watch Clean House, or even if you do, click the video to enjoy a “Clean House Hijinx” reel posted to Youtube by Matt Iseman, Clean House’s Go-to Guy. It’s hilarious!

Oh Melisa, you`re a hoot. Like the clean look and the idea with you new page and blogroll is awesome. I attempted something similar but never followed through completely. Well done.

I LOVE CLEAN HOUSE! NYSEE (Sp?) makes me laugh.

I’m concerned that we are on the way to becoming contestents on this show. Our house is fairly clean and organized, but don’t open a closet or go into our basement.

    Like the new blog layout!

Proud to be a suburban scrawl cult member!! no really I am not stalking you! Oh and i really like the fluffy pink tiara!

  • Melisa

    Kat: I guess you’re a hoot too, since we’re evil twins. 🙂

Sarah: I am so glad to read that somebody else watches it! Her name is spelled Niecy, and she cracks me up too. And by the way, I hope to Gawd that you don’t ever have to go on that show. I would say it’s fun to watch, but to be on it? Probably not so much. 🙂

Qujabaka: Ack! Not a cult! ha ha And I don’t mind being stalked, as long as you’re not creepy. 🙂
If you’ve been a lurker for a while you’ll know that I am a stalker myself; it’s how I “got” my husband. 🙂 Thanks for delurking, and might I add that I am extra thrilled to have a New Zealander (can I call you a Kiwi, or is that not correct?) on board!

I’m with you … I love clean and uncluttered.

Oh and do I get extra points for having arrived on this post because I follow you already? 😉

Love the new signature! (It is new right? I’m not smoking crack again?)

Oh man, I WISH our station hadn’t made us switch from Blogger to Pluck…I like your cleaner blog. I als like how you have your tweets in the side bar (we can’t do *ANYTHING* in our sidebars… PERIOD. Sorry I am venting at your blog again, but I long for the good old days of happy blogger… I want to copy your signature thing at the bottom… I might try that…I’m heading over to dafont.com right now! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Michelle: Absolutely. You get 10,000 extra points! cha ching! bwahahaha! And yes, the signature is new; I found it via Qweenie’s Court. If you click it, it’ll take you to the site where I created it, and then I figured out how to set it up in all future posts (until I change it or something). I felt really smart in that moment. 🙂

DSB: Me too! Did you see the one where a woman at the yardsale wanted to buy Niecy’s flower and she totally wouldn’t part with it, but got her one, “from her trailer”? I bet she sent someone out to Claire’s Accessories. 🙂

Kim: Hey, you can vent anytime you want. To be honest with you, *I* wish you were still on blogger too! But don’t you worry, I’m still reading you over there. You and Angie are so creative within the constraints your network has put into place on your blog. ha ha
You have a good Sunday too! 🙂

I did not see that one, which surprises me because I’ve been watching that show for years! But I bet she totally did send someone out to Claire’s!

So you ARE or AREN’T starting your own cult? are there any funky hair/dress requirements or can we just join on the basis that we are freakishly cool and overly blogged?

Oh wait, you said you had to be a “Blogger” blogger. Damnit.

    You elitist!

  • Melisa

Anissa: DUDE! I am so NOT starting my own cult. If I were, however, the required dress code would be a tiara and comfy pants, with a t-shirt.

And for the record, Blogger made that rule about the followers thing. Ticked me off, too! Don’t worry, I’ll always picture your little icon down there with the others. 🙂
