Glade® Expressions™ Collection: It’s All About Being #Happiair!

I have a sensitive nose. This is a blessing and a curse. While I can smell a field of beautiful, purple lavender from a mile away, I can also tell when our kitchen trash needs to be taken out immediately because something in it is thisclose to spoiling and making an icky, bad smell waft through my house like a fast-moving thunderstorm.

Trash cans aside, I love when my–or any–space smells nice. I am the person your realtor warned you about, the one who will look more kindly upon your newly-listed house if you bake cookies just before my walk-through. The smell of a new car makes me smile. I do NOT walk away from those stores in the mall that are darkened and play loud music meant for repelling “adults” because those stores also usually smell really great (and I like loud music, but that’s another post); I am drawn to them.

I just learned (and have been asked to spread the word) that the folks at Glade® are launching a new line called the Glade® Expressions™ Collection. The collection is inspired by current sentiments of maintaining a sense of well-being and balance in an increasingly hectic society. (Um, and who needs THAT more than I do?)

The Collection features a Fragrance Mist and Oil Diffuser, and is offered in four great fragrances: Cotton & Italian Mandarin (Fragrance Mist only), Pineapple & Mangosteen (Fragrance Mist and Oil Diffuser), Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice (Fragrance Mist & Oil Diffuser), and Lavender & Juniper Berry (Fragrance Mist & Oil Diffuser). Not only are the products refillable, but they can be found at most food, drug, and the “buy milk AND a sweater” kind of stores at a very reasonable price.

Okay, so YAY. Now I can bring lavender, one of my favorite scents, INTO my house along with its partner, Juniper Berry–another fave. I am working on being a relaxation machine (because, like I always say, “Go Big or Go Home,” you know?)!

It’s going to be a Glade® kind of weekend in the Chicago area! First, the Glade® Expressions™ Happiair Tour–a mobile truck touring 30 cities in the U.S.–is rolling into Chicago to provide the fresh scents of the new Glade® Expressions™ Collection to passersby. The tour will make lots of stops around the area and you can follow Glade® on Twitter (and the hashtag #Happiair) to stay on top of the truck’s whereabouts, but there are three DEFINITE stops that you can catch:

Saturday, 3/31 from 1-8 p.m. at Navy Pier
Sunday, 4/1 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie
Tuesday, 4/3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Lincoln Park Zoo

In fact, I will be hanging out with the Glade® folks on Saturday at Navy Pier from 2-3:30 and on Sunday at Old Orchard from 11-12:30, so stop and see me, why don’t you? Even if you can’t come to see me at those times, visit when you can. Catch the Glade® Happiair Tour anytime in Chicago and get a little tote bag and some coupons so you can bring the new collection home for yourself!

I’m also having a small get-together in my house on Sunday, totally Glade® Expressions™ Collection-inspired. My guests will get to check out the new products (and take some of them home, too!) as well as the Glade® Home Style Studio, an app which allows Facebook fans to discover their own personal home decor style with a customized “styleboard” inspired by their favorite Glade® Expressions™ Collection fragrance. We’ll also be enjoying food and drinks inspired by the new collection…imagine the possibilities! I’ll post again next week with a party and Glade® Tour update.

In the meantime, just for fun, tell me: which of the four new fragrances would you grab first?

Disclosure: I am being compensated for my participation in the promotion of the new Glade® Expressions™ Collection. All words and opinions are mine, as usual.

I’m familiar with how all the ingredients in the scents smell except mangosteen. Any idea how to describe it? It’s in one flavor of Snapple now, too. Must be the “it” fruit of the moment! 😉

Yeah, I had to look it up when I first saw it as one of the fragrances. It’s a tropical fruit and apparently it has health benefits. I don’t know what it smells like by itself but the pineapple and mangosteen combination smells really lovely. The best way I can think of to describe it is that it smells like a grown-up, sophisticated version of Fruit Stripes gum. I adore it. (I put one of the Glade oil diffusers in that fragrance in my bedroom!)
