It’s that time of year again!
For the third year in a row, I will be joining a bunch of my girlfriends, B96, 104.3 K-HITS and Bath & Body Works at the gorgeous Alhambra Palace (1240 West Randolph Street, Chicago) for “Girls’ Night Out: Go Red For Women”, an event that celebrates the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. The event is on Thursday, February 28 from 7:00-10:00 p.m., and I know it’s going to be a great time. Last year was pretty awesome.
The only problem I’m currently having will sound familiar to you: wardrobe. I drove myself absolutely insane in 2011, trying to find the perfect red dress. And then, I had a delivery problem with my new shoes, in that they didn’t arrive until just before I had to leave for the event and I wasn’t about to wear them without breaking them in. Last year, I made things a lot easier for myself by deciding that I was just going to wear my favorite go-to black dress with the red shoes I couldn’t wear the year before. Totally zen.
This year? Well, I’m starting from scratch, I guess. And I just realized that. So I’ve got just a couple of weeks to pick an extreme (because I usually don’t live “in the middle”):
1. Get completely obsessed with the hunt for the perfect outfit
OR
2. Relax, casually look for something to wear, and end up just looking in my closet.
What’s your prediction? (I think we all know where this is going, don’t we?)
By the way, you should definitely attend this event if you’re in the Chicago area. I’ve got two choices for you.
1. Purchase a ticket. The $35 VIP Ticket includes (1) raffle ticket, swag bag, signature cocktail, light hors d’ oeuvres, complimentary beauty treatments, fashion show, red carpet photos and more! Ticket proceeds benefit the AHA Go Red for Women initiatives. You can register by clicking here (and don’t waste time: this event sells out!).
2. Try and win one right here! I have been provided with two giveaway tickets! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment right here telling me that you want to go to the event. Please ONLY leave a comment to enter if you know for sure that you can attend, because it would be awful for two tickets to end up going to waste. Comment entries must be left by 11:59 p.m. Central time on Monday, February 18. I will choose a winner via random.org on the morning of Tuesday, February 19. If I don’t hear from the winner by noon on Wednesday, February 20 I will have to choose another winner.
Either way, I hope to see you there! Now…what am I going to wear???
Disclosure: I was provided two complimentary tickets to this great event in exchange for writing this post.

Oh ME. Pick ME!! I’ve been dying to wear the red bridesmaid dress from my sister-in-law’s wedding again (accompanied by dual pairs of Spanx).
Anything for a good cause. Go American Heart Association!

Hello: I’d like to come this year because last year I rallied up friends to go. However, I ended up getting sick with hives and had to stay at home. Needless to say, they had a blast while I stayed at home. I’m soo ready this year!
