With BlogHer 2013* coming up next week, I’ve been thinking a lot about the different facets of my blogging “career”. BlogHer 2009 in Chicago was my first conference (though I had been blogging since 2007), and back then, even though I’ve always been the same person online as in real life, my online identity looked like this:
Remember that? I love that picture. I used the six-year-old me as my avatar from 2007 until 2011, and truth be told, I was a little scared of changing it. Change is good, though, so I did. I haven’t looked back since! (Well, until now.)
If you don’t remember the six-year-old me, you probably also don’t remember what Suburban Scrawl used to look like. Here’s my old header.
In 2011 my book was being published and I decided that it was time to inject some Chicago into these Suburban parts, since it’s all a part of me. Again, the change was difficult but exciting.
I can’t imagine changing my blog design framework again because I can’t think of any design that could fit me more perfectly.
Then again, that’s what I said when I was still displaying the picket fence, so we’ll see. At any rate, it won’t happen anytime soon!

I love your “Chicago” header! And I hope you still have the tiara.

I think you look like a young Jamie Lee Curtis in that picture.
Please bring back the tiara.
Please.

Actually, wrong-o! That’s in the front window of the Park Forest house, right in front of that tv that used to make that slapping noise because the picture tube was going out!

I’ve loved them all!

Any way, any header, you ARE perfect the way you are!

They are all awesome because they are all YOU! 🙂
Happy BlogHer week!
