I am a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam and will be happily sharing monthly tips and stories about how my family uses Netflix on a regular basis. (Okay, that’s an understatement. I should say CONSTANTLY. We use Netflix CONSTANTLY.) This post is sponsored by Netflix, of course! As you may recall, we haven’t paid for cable/satellite in two years. The television antenna we use only brings in our local ABC channel reliably; other than that we stream movies and shows. (Yay Netflix!) We’re always keeping an eye out for new releases on Netflix; for example, I just jumped for joy this morning when I found out that Jennifer Aniston’s movie…

He Blinded Me With Science. #StreamTeam
My older son D has been a science nut his whole life. When he was just a toddler, he loved taking things apart to see exactly how they worked, and, slightly related, he adored Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science”, which we listened to in my minivan just about every day along with other 80s favorites. When he was in high school…

I Want To Go To There Again, With Netflix #StreamTeam
I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and will be happily sharing monthly tips and stories about how my family uses Netflix on a regular basis. (Okay, that’s an understatement. I should say CONSTANTLY. We use Netflix CONSTANTLY.) This post is sponsored by Netflix, of course! Coming in just under the wire with my April Netflix Stream Team post (because that’s how I roll, especially during LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show season), I decided to write about revisiting old favorites.

Tina Fey’s Netflix Original! (#StreamTeam)
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so, you are well aware that Season Three of “House of Cards” (A Netflix Original Series) has just become available for streaming. I can’t tell you how many of my friends made plans to cozy up this weekend and binge-watch the adventures of Frank and Claire Underwood, played to perfection…

It’s A Very Brady Birthday
It’s my birthday today, and over the past couple of days I’ve put some thought into what I might want to write about this year…and came up completely empty. This is my eighth birthday blog post, and I feel like I’ve covered all of the angles already. I mean, how much can a person really write about her own birthday? Then a friend, Erica, who I will now call “the Amazingly Wonderful and Hugely Tremendous Erica” whenever her name crosses my lips to infinity and beyond, did something really nice last night and unknowingly gave me the perfect gift. Make that two gifts; she gave me a gift AND the…

The One With The Milestones
I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and will be happily sharing monthly tips and stories about how my family uses Netflix on a regular basis. (Okay, that’s an understatement. I should say CONSTANTLY. We use Netflix CONSTANTLY.) As a member of the Stream Team I was provided with a Roku and a voucher to apply towards my Netflix account. This month, the Netflix Stream Team was asked to write about family milestones, and as I mulled it over, my thoughts were interrupted by HUGE NEWS: “Friends” is going to be available for streaming on Netflix in the United States and Canada starting on January 1, 2015. THIS…

All Is Quiet On New Year’s Day (Kind Of.)

Also, you’ll get to see why I already have plans on New Year’s Day. Here’s a hint: Click here to read more.

Playing Horse
Jim and I have been streaming the show “Welcome To Sweden”, which is an NBC sitcom produced by Amy Poehler (among others) and starring her younger brother Greg. It’s about a guy and his Swedish fiancee and the hijinks that ensue when they move from New York back to her home in Sweden. I find it hilarious, sweet, and extremely unique (subtitles!!), by the way, and Jim…does not. Anyway, while watching the show I have noticed Swedish Dala horses in the background. Seeing them on television made me remember the three-inch, red Dala horse that my mom used to have hanging on the living room wall above the couch. When…

#NetflixKids Answers Questions.
Whether you’re a parent or not, you’ve probably seen a kid toss a new toy aside in favor of the box. “There he goes, playing with the box again…I could’ve saved twenty bucks just by finding an old box for him!” Or something like that. That was an…

#NetflixKids And I Are Taking It Easy This Month.
I had to laugh a little bit when I received my Netflix Stream Team bulletin this month. This month Netflix is putting the focus on how moms can (and should) recharge, because parenting is a 24/7 gig. Of course, the monthly topic wasn’t the funny part. It’s an…
